Cross country championships top of sports order this weekend

Josh Zilles and Samara Quanz will represent the blue and gold at the U Sports cross country championship meet in Quebec City on Saturday, Nov. 20. It’s the most distant of the varsity action for Lancer athletes this weekend, the last competition before year’s end.

Closer to home, the men’s hockey team will face off against the Waterloo Warriors at the Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19. It’s the first game of a home-and-away series, with the squads meeting Saturday in Waterloo at 7 p.m.

Volleyball will also play at home, hosting the Guelph Gryphons in the Dennis Fairall Fieldhouse on Saturday. Game time is 2 p.m. for the women and 4 p.m. for the men.

Women’s hockey is on the road, playing the Gryphons in Guelph in games Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

Basketball will travel to St. Catharines to take on the Brock Badgers on Saturday. The women are scheduled to tip off at 2:30 p.m. and the men at 4:30 p.m.

OUA.tv will carry all the action, with the sole exception of cross country.
