COVID concerns cancel campus Holiday Market

In light of renewed pandemic restrictions recently announced by the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit, the Holiday Market scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 8, has been cancelled.

It’s a cautionary measure supported by the University of Windsor’s health and safety department, said organizer Mary-Ann Rennie, special events manager in the Office of the President.

“We try as much as possible to follow health unit guidelines as soon as they are released,” she said. “We do not want to put anyone in a situation where they might feel unsafe.”

She said she hopes to reschedule the event, which was to feature local vendors selling handicrafts and seasonal wares, when it is safe to do so.
