Egg hunt to proceed by class cohort

To give students in each year of studies a chance to meet others in their cohorts, organizers of an egg hunt are setting times by class.

The student centre, along with campus partners, is hosting the Campus Golden Egg Hunt on Wednesday, April 13, in the grassy quad between Dillon and Chrysler halls — with a rain date of April 14.

Students must register for the appropriate time slot:

  • 1st Year - 11 to 11:30 a.m. (check-in begins at 10:15 a.m.)
  • 2nd Year - 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. (check-in begins at 11 a.m.)
  • 3rd Year - 12:30 to 1 p.m. (check-in begins at 11:45 a.m.)
  • 4th Year - 1:15 to 1:45 p.m. (check-in begins at 12:30 p.m.)

and check in in the Student Courtyard between Dillon and Memorial halls. A time slot for graduate students has already filled up.

The event is not a race, emphasizes Sandra Riccio-Muglia, director of student centre events and programming.

“You can come anytime in your 30-minute time slot,” she says. “Each registrant will be able to choose five golden eggs for a chance to win a prize, so no need to run out of your lab.”

She notes that one in four eggs contain prizes ranging in value from $5 to $175, but all those in attendance will be winners.

“No one will leave empty handed,” says Riccio-Muglia. “Everyone leaves with a small treat and we will also have hot chocolate for everyone.”
