UWindsor will transition all but a few two-term courses to D2L’s Brightspace for the Winter 2023 semester. To ensure all instructors are ready to teach with Brightspace learning management system (LMS) in January 2023, UWindsor’s IT Service Desk and the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) will provide holiday support from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on:

  • Friday, December23
  • Tuesday, December 27
  • Wednesday, December 28
  • Thursday, December 29
  • Friday, December 30
  • Monday, January 2

Connect with CTL’s Brightspace virtual Drop-in during the same time.

Beginning December 22, IT Service Desk and CTL support will be supplemented with D2L’s Brightspace after-hours virtual support. “We are delighted to have D2L provide assistance to the UWindsor instructors, staff and students when the IT Service desk and CTL Brightspace Drop-in are closed,” says Erika Kustra, director, Centre for Teaching and Learning.

Users can find the Get Help button in the lower right corner of any Brightspace course site to access support through live chat or email. D2L support for Brightspace-specific issues will be available 24/7/365 whenever UWindsor support services are closed.

Instructors and students can also find dedicated resources on the UWindsor Brightspace website, including FAQs and how-to documents. Instructors looking to review recent training recordings can access them on the site, as well.

The new LMS offers an accessible, agile cloud-based platform. It boasts a modern, visually organized dashboard with tools that support teaching and interactive learning. Continuous platform enhancements will be delivered monthly by D2L.
