An event celebrating International Women’s Day will be a chance for women entrepreneurs across Windsor-Essex to network, sell, and grow their clientele, says Womxn’s Centre co-ordinator Kim Courtis.
A service of the University of Windsor Students’ Alliance, the centre is presenting the Vendor Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, in the student centre commons. It will feature bakeries, vintage shops, housewares, restaurants, crafters, and jewelry-makers, Courtis says.
“There is always room for more women in business and I hope this market shows young women across campus that hard work, dedication, and passion can make any entrepreneurial venture possible.”
Further, Women’s and Gender Studies in the School of Social Work will host a presentation by Elene Lam, founder of the Butterfly Asian and migrant sex workers support network, and law professor Vincent Wong, on March 9 in observance of Intersectional International Women’s Day.
