Alumni and instructors among orchestral musicians

Windsor Symphony Orchestra concerts this weekend promise a musical feast for classical enthusiasts and first-time concertgoers.

The orchestra will perform Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8, a testament to the composer’s ability to blend folk elements with classical forms, and Victor Herbert’s Cello Concerto No. 2 in E minor, showcasing the virtuosity of principal cellist Andrew McIntosh.

Orchestra members include a number of UWindsor alumni and educators. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, at the Capitol Theatre, 121 University Ave. West.
