Local Black notables subject of history quiz

The Black History – Black Futures planning committee has prepared quizzes to run through the month of February, offering as prizes a poster created by UWindsor alumnus Robert Small from his Legacy Collexion, along with swag from the University of Windsor Alumni Association.

To enter today’s contest, the third and last in the series, answer the questions below. A winner will be selected at random from all correct responses received by noon Tuesday, Feb. 27.

  1. Born in Colchester to formerly enslaved parents in 1843 or 1844, this African-Canadian mechanical engineer and inventor went on to hold 57 patents in his lifetime.
