DailyNews to slow publication schedule starting next week

DailyNews, the University of Windsor’s e-newsletter, will begin its summer publishing schedule next week, moving to two issues a week.

DailyNews will publish Mondays and Thursdays until it resumes daily publication September 4. Holiday Mondays on May 21, July 2, August 6 and September 3 will push publication scheduled for these dates to the following Tuesday.

UWindsor reveals vision for downtown campus

Preliminary renderings of the University of Windsor’s downtown campus were revealed by president Alan Wildeman during a media conference Wednesday, April 17, in the Windsor Armouries.

“The University of Windsor is creating new spaces where our students, faculty and staff can be engaged in innovative teaching, learning and discovery, and where they can more effectively partner with the arts community and social agencies to make a difference,” Dr. Wildeman said.

Event to celebrate art professor’s retirement

Friends and colleagues of visual arts professor Susan Gold Smith are invited to celebrate her retirement at Fluxing Forward, Thursday, April 19, at Phog Lounge.

Gold Smith is a former director of the School of Visual Arts. Her art has been exhibited in world capitals from New York to London, Copenhagen to Berlin, and she has contributed as a curator to galleries, conferences, and international exhibitions. In 2010, she received an Arts Leadership Award from the Windsor Endowment for the Arts.

Registration now open for Campus Technology Day 2012

With a theme of “Opening Doors with Technology,” Campus Technology Day 2012 will include interactive sessions and poster presentations discussing the impact of technology in enhancing learning, teaching, research, and building community, May 17 in the CAW Student Centre.

Campus Police organize barbecue to benefit Bernie Mulligan

Members of the Campus Community Police Service will host a lunchtime barbecue today – Tuesday, April 17 – to benefit Bernie Mulligan, a UWindsor carpenter undergoing treatment for cancer.

The event will run 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside the eastern entrance to the CAW Student Centre and will feature hot dogs and hamburgers, as well as live music by Campus Police officers.
