The Panel on Research Ethics has released the revised Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans.
The UWindsor Office of Research and Innovative Services and the Research Ethics Board are seeking to assess the use of Qualtrics’ participant panel and elicit researcher feedback on the ethical context, functionality, quality of data, ease of use, and value for money.
They are seeking three projects currently underway to compare the use of Qualtrics panel with other recruitment sources such as Mechanical Turk, social media, and community-based.
Eligible projects must meet the following criteria:
Panellists with first-hand experience of the challenges of online research will discuss how they responded to these problems effectively and ethically during the two-jour workshop “Online Research: Challenges and Ethical Solutions,” Thursday, March 21, at 1 p.m. in the Oak Room, Vanier Hall.
Representatives from the research software company Qualtrics will present on its survey platform, and along with officials from the Research Ethics Board and Information Technology Services, will answer questions on supports available to help researchers find success with online projects.
UWindsor researchers have a new platform to share summary reports of research studies with study participants.
A restructured web presence is the first step for Research Ethics Board efforts to enhance communication with researchers.
The office of the Research Ethics Board will be closed through September 6.
An information session on Friday, January 22, will educate UWindsor faculty members on guidelines and parameters for human-based research. The Research Ethics Board will conduct the session from 1 to 4 p.m. in McPherson Lounge, Alumni Hall.
Seating is limited; please register in advance by e-mailing ethics@uwindsor.ca.
