WE Magazine 2024

The year 2023 was a transformational one for the Faculty of Engineering.  We hired new faculty, invested in our infrastructure, and opened two industry offices inside the building to collaborate closely with researchers, postdocs, and students.  This issue of Windsor Engineering continues to showcase such advancements.

In the latest issue of WE, find out how the Faculty of Engineering is adapting and contributing to a more sustainable future.  The research and careers of our highlighted faculty, students and alumni span all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, which serve as a blueprint for a better and more sustainable future (http://sdgs.un.org/goals).  You'll read about the significant, innovative, and impactful research our faculty, students and alumni conduct worldwide.  You'll be introduced to a trailblazer, Raed Kadri, an alumni driven to change the world by being the Head of OVIN, Ontario's Vehicle Innovation Network.  WE Magazine is distributed annually to alumni, students, faculty, staff, and industrial/community partners of the faculty. This edition of our WE Magazine will be distributed electronically to align with our dedication to Sustainable Development Goals.

I am incredibly proud of our Elevate Scholars, who have worked alongside faculty researchers this past summer.  These students, hailing from various underrepresented groups in the engineering profession, have gained their initial insight into what a research career entails.  I eagerly anticipate the progress of our second cohort of Elevate Scholars, currently in their first year of studies, who will commence their placements with faculty members in the summer semester of 2024.

As the Dean of Engineering, I look forward to connecting with you all. I encourage you to introduce yourselves on LinkedIn or contact me at deanengg@uwindsor.ca.
