Nine robots from across the country entered in the race.

The object was to maneuver their robot around a track without any human help and to avoid hitting pylons.

Siddhant Ahuja, Thanh Nguyenv and Michael Stolarchuk's robot came in first with the best time around the track.

Project leader Siddhant Ahuja says its unbelievable they won.

This was the first time students representing the university had entered the competition.

The budget for constructing their robot was about two thousand dollars.

They won 500 dollars to split between the three of them.
