PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Communications Coordinator for the Leddy Library works with the Library’s various departments and UWindsor campus community to enhance stakeholder awareness of the Library’s academic support, research, collections and fundraising priorities by assisting in the development and execution of a comprehensive communication strategy for the Library. This includes enhancing the internal and external profile of the Library, publicizing the Library through various media, maintaining designated sections of the Library’s website and online presence, and developing web, print and public affairs plans and content.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or a related field as determined by the department
• 3 years’ professional experience in media relations, public relations or communications
• Experience in developing and implementing editorial calendars and communication plans including the creation of content design for a variety of media options (print, web, social media)
• Experience in social media tools and website maintenance using a content management system such as Drupal
• Demonstrated ability to write about higher education and research topics for a variety of audiences
• Demonstrated experience developing marketing strategies, media placement, and publication development and production
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including exceptional writing skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Competency with commonly used web, communication, and related computer applications including Microsoft Word, graphic/photo-design and editing software
• Well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with stakeholders
• Proficiency in videography, video editing, and digital photography
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Ability to cope with a demanding workload while adhering to deadlines
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies, tools and processes
PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Graphic design experience and use of complementary software such as Adobe Creative Suite and other design tools
• Experience in using Web based survey tools
• Experience using Customer Relationship Management tools.
Rate of Pay:
Classification "V" per Schedule A of the Collective Agreement
