Welcome

Its objective and vision are to pursue leading-edge research in the multidisciplinary field of manufacturing systems and related topics from products design to manufacturing and the complete product lifecycle. Smart and adaptable manufacturing systems paradigms and the Fourth Industrial Revolution (I4.0) and their enablers are active research foci.

The IMS Center is recognized for its high impact research and innovation. It is home to the only Canada Research Chair in Manufacturing Systems (2002-2016). Its research is supported nationally and provincially. It engages in many projects with industry, networks, and centers of research excellence, as well as international collaborations and exchanges.

The IMS Centre is located in the Ed Lumley Centre for Engineering Innovation (CEI).
