Kin Grad Student Association

Welcome to the University of Windsor’s Kinesiology graduate program! We are excited for you to join the Faculty of Human Kinetics and become our newest member of the HK family. As an MHK or a PhD student in our program, you will not only be afforded with an abundance of resources and connections through the Faculty of Human Kinetics but you will also be an integral piece of the community of students who are earning their graduate degrees alongside you. The friendships, working relationships, and bonds that you forge throughout your time at the University of Windsor will prove to be essential in your success during and after graduate school.

As a graduate student in our program, you are now a part of the Kinesiology Graduate Student Association (KGSA). The KGSA is a student-led organization which supports our graduate students with programs and initiatives to provide you with an exciting graduate school experience inside and outside of the classroom. A few of our students’ favorite initiatives are our bi-annual student-faculty cooking competition called Battle of the Bowls, academic workshop series to strengthen our students conference presenting, writing, and studying skills, and our student social nights out in downtown Windsor. Our students are our priority, and we are always excited to develop and implement new initiatives to support our students in their academic and social lives. We encourage you to take a look through our other events on the website to learn more!

On behalf of the KGSA, I hope that your graduate school experience far exceeds your expectations. We are here to help, support, or simply hang out with you if you are ever in need. Do not hesitate to reach out to any of us throughout the year should you have any questions about your student experience or suggestions for ways the department can facilitate a better experience for you and your fellow graduate students.

Best regards,
Katie Hirsch
President, Kinesiology Graduate Student Association

The Kinesiology Graduate Student Association (KGSA) is a student body of graduate students in the Department of Kinesiology. We focus on providing programs, services, and social events to provide support for our fellow graduate students and to enhance every student’s experience during their time in our MHK or Ph.D. programs at the University of Windsor. We are governed by a group of students who represent different labs, streams, academic years, and more! This is important to us because we value hearing all voices and perspectives when working to development and implement initiatives to the graduate programs. We are always available should you have any questions about your student experience or suggestions for initiatives that you would like to see implemented in the department.
