Preserving Your Copyright

While negotiating the publishing contract, you may be able to contract with the publisher to retain copyright, so that the final version of your research can be deposited in the repository (although usually not the version as formatted and paginated by the publisher). The Canadian Association of Research Libraries has created a guide to help you negotiate this, the CARL Guide to Using the Canadian Author Addendum. Find the CARL Canadian Author Addendum.
