Catherine McKeever Memorial

Fundraiser Concert

Heritage Auditorium, Assumption Hall, 400 Huron Church Rd.

A wonderful celebration of Cathy McKeever's life in song featuring her former students, friends, colleagues and choral groups she supported.

Admission by Donation. All proceeds go to the Catherine McKeever Memorial Voice Scholarship at the University of Windsor.

Catherine McKeever, alto, enjoyed a varied career performing an impressive vocal repertory that included a wide variety of oratorio and concert repertoire, as well as an array of operatic roles.  Performances included Brahms’ Alto Rhapsody, Handel’s Messiah, Feel the Spirit (Rutter), Mozart’s Missa Longa, and Honneger’s King David.   She was also a soloist in recordings of the works of Paul Paray, including his oratorio Jeanne D’Arc, Pastorale de Noël and Mass.

After receiving an Honours Bachelor of Music degree in 1994 from the University of Windsor, McKeever completed post-graduate studies at the University of Michigan. For many years she balanced a busy performing career with a teaching position on the voice faculty at the University of Windsor (1997 - 2011) and a busy private voice studio. Cathy, we miss your spirit, grace and humor -- and your incomparable voice.

The Catherine McKeever Voice Scholarship was established at the University of Windsor to honour Cathy’s memory and provide financial support for current and future altos and mezzo-sopranos studying at the School of Creative Arts.
