Science Dean Review Committee

May 27, 2020

I am pleased to announce that Dr Chris Houser has been renewed for a second five-year term as Dean of the Faculty of Science, from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2026.

Chris joined the University of Windsor in 2016, coming to us from Texas A&M University, where he was Associate Dean for Undergraduate Affairs and Faculty Development in the College of Geosciences.

In the four years that he has served our Faculty of Science, Chris has demonstrated effective leadership in many areas, including student recruitment, curriculum development, and community outreach. He has brought students to Science, and he has taken Science to the community. His success in fundraising, his collaboration with regional partners through extension initiatives, and his promotion of innovative research have broadened Science’s profile and provided new opportunities for faculty and students alike. Under his guidance, the Faculty has indeed become Destination Science.

I want to thank the members of the Dean of Science Review Committee for their good work. We welcome Chris’s continued leadership in the years ahead. Please join me in offering Chris congratulations and support as he enters his fifth year as Dean and looks ahead to a second term that I am sure will be second to none. Thank you, Chris!

Sincerely,
Douglas Kneale, PhD
