Announcement
June 23, 2026
We are pleased to announce the renewal of Dr. Linda Rohr for a second term as Dean of the Faculty of Human Kinetics, effective July 1, 2026.
During her first term, Dr. Rohr has provided steady and strategic leadership, strengthening the faculty’s academic mission and its role as a strong campus leader for teaching, research, and community engagement. She advocated for and helped recruit a new Canada Research Chair in Heath Informatics and increased internal research supports for HK faculty members.
Dr. Rohr expanded program-level community engagement, brought LEAD medallion recognition to Kinesiology students, and helped guide the successful and smooth opening of the Toldo Lancer Centre. She continues to ensure the TLC fulfills its mandate as a hub for healthy activity and sport excellence for our students and the wider Windsor-Essex Community.
Dr. Rohr’s leadership extends beyond HK, including leading the University’s commitment to the Okanagan Charter as chair of the Okanagan Charter Steering Committee, and guiding the work of the Centre for Human Performance and Health (CHPH) Steering Committee. Her contributions to university governance have been significant, including service on senior leadership search committees and co‑leading the University’s Data Strategy Project Planning.
“Dr. Rohr is a student-focused leader who has not only been a tireless advocate for the Faculty of Human Kinetics, but also for the University of Windsor as a whole,” said Interim Provost and Vice-President Academic, Dr. Cheryl Collier, “We are extremely fortunate to have her leadership in all areas continue for a second term.”
Looking ahead to that second term, Dr. Rohr will continue to advance initiatives that support student experience, community partnerships, health‑promoting campus priorities, and the ongoing development of high‑quality academic programs.
