Perspectives on Geometry
the second talk in a four-part series to explore the connectedness of mathematics
Geometry is perhaps the oldest topic in mathematics, and it has seen many interesting developments over time. Often, throughout history people have thought that there was one "right" way to teach and learn geometry. In this talk, we'll be looking at four different perspectives on geometry. Each of these perspectives are useful in their own right, and furthermore they have pedagogical as well as mathematical interest when taken together.
