Programs and Services for Part-Time Students

Are you considering starting a university degree, but do not have the time to be in school full-time?

At the University of Windsor, you can be a part-time student, and take as little as one course (3.0 credit hours), or as many as three courses (9.0 credit hours) per semester. Whether you are only interested in taking a few courses each semester, or perhaps you are working full-time and need a more flexible program, a part-time program may be best suited for you.

We offer a variety of programs on a part-time basis, and our courses may be offered in the daytime, evenings, weekends and/or as distance education (online courses). Programs such as Liberal Arts and Professional Studies are flexible, allowing you to make time for your other life commitments. However, some of our programs are only offered on a full-time basis, so be sure to check if the program you are interested in requires you be enroled full-time. As a part-time student you will also be eligible for scholarships and awards and can take advantage of other services such as athletics and recreation, academic advising, and student orientation.

The Organization of Part-Time University Students (OPUS) at the University of Windsor, established in 1969, is a student union comprised of volunteer part-time students who advocate on behalf of part-time students and provide services for part-time students, including a drug and dental plan, awards and bursaries, a bus pass, volunteer opportunities, and much more. For more information about these services, students are encouraged to visit OPUS.

At the University of Windsor, we understand that many students may have different needs and concerns, and work hard to balance many responsibilities such as family, work, and education. If you feel this is you, consider completing a degree on a part-time basis. With our small class sizes and various learning options, we believe we have some great options for students interested in part-time studies!
