  • Fact you found interesting: In 2025, the university achieved a 47% reduction ingreenhouse gas emissions from 2019 levels, surpassing its 2030 target of 45% reduction six years early.

  • What you hope to learn this term: How nurses can incorporate sustainability into health promotion ​

  • What made you interested in this role? I was interested in gaining a different perspective on communitynursing while learning more about the environment ​

Ahona Khan

  • Program/Major: Bachelor of Science in Nursing ​(4th year)

  • Hometown: Windsor ​

  • What you hope to learn this term: I hope to further develop my understanding of sustainability in relation to health and explore how environmentalfactors impact communities. I am especially interested in learning how to translate sustainability knowledge into practical actions that can be appliedboth on campus and in my future nursing practice.​

  • What made you interested in this role? I was interested in this role because it combines my passion for health with sustainability and communityengagement. I wanted the opportunity to be involved in initiatives that promote environmental awareness while also contributing to meaningfulchange within the university community.​

  • What is your favourite sustainability practice?  My favourite sustainability practice is promoting small, everyday behaviour changes such as reducingwaste and conserving resources because they are realistic and can collectively have a large impact.​

Brahmjot Singh (He/Him)

  • Program/Major: MEng Environmental Engineering
  • Hometown: Ambala, India
  • What you hope to learn this term: As an environmental engineering student, I aim to improve my skills in sustainability, deepen my understanding of eco-friendly practices, and create practical solutions that inspire others to live more sustainably.
  • What made you interested in this role? The opportunity to focus on practical sustainability and making a positive impact on the environment
  • What is your favourite sustainability practice?  Composting, as it reduces landfill waste and enriches soil for gardening.

  • Favourite reusable item: Stainless steel water bottle, which I always carry with me so that I can reduce consumption of single-use plastic bottles.

Dania Kart (she/her)

  • Program/Major: Bachelors of Commerce in Business Administration with a minor in Economics and a specialization in Marketing.
  • Hometown: Windsor, ON
  • What you hope to learn this term: How I can be part of something greater, something with meaning and purpose.
  • What made you interested in this role? The potential to make a difference in my local community
  • What is your favourite sustainability practice? Repurposing all of my single use items into multi use items. For example, reusing finished bottles of beauty products to fill something else, using grocery bags as a garbage bag, and filling single use water bottles up with different things (e.g. plants)

  • What made you interested in this role? I would love to keep the Campus as sustainable as possible.

  • What you hope to learn this term: How to find more common ways to be sustainable every day.
  • What made you interested in this role? The ability to know that this is a role that truly plays a huge part in the betterment of our university and community
  • What is your favourite sustainability practice? Carpooling/bike riding.
