Lancers Care Week: January 24th - 28th, 2022

Bell Let's Talk Day is January 26th, 2022!

After nearly two years of pandemic life and in the midst of another wave, many people are exhausted, overwhelmed, and run down. It makes sense if you're not feeling like yourself right now. It's understandable if you're struggling. You might also be wondering or worrying about what it will be like to return to campus and how to cope with the broader uncertainty and change in our lives. If so, you are not alone.

This year, we are launching Lancers Care | Onward Together: Connecting and Coping through Uncertainty and Change, a virtual campaign focused on the pandemic mental health needs of our campus community and starting the conversation around coping and adjusting to our eventual return to in-person learning. All members of our campus community are invited to join us as we explore how we can best support ourselves and each other while we continue to navigate the ongoing impact of the pandemic.

We'll be kicking off the Lancers Care Campaign with Lancers Care Week. See below for details!

This year’s Bell Let’s Talk Day campaign highlights the ways that we can support ourselves and those we care about through actions like listening, being there and talking. Every Canadian can play a part in their communities, workplaces, schools and at home. 

On Bell Let’s Talk Day, Bell donates 5 cents to Canadian mental health programs for every applicable text, local or long distance call, tweet or TikTok video using the hashtag "BellLetsTalk", every FacebookInstagramLinkedInPinterestSnapchatTikTokTwitter and YouTube view of the Bell Let’s Talk Day video, and every use of the Bell Let’s Talk Facebook frame or Snapchat lens. All at no cost to you beyond what you would normally pay your service provider for online or phone access. 

 

All Day | Bell Let's Talk Virtual Photobooth

Although we can't be together in person this year, we can still share messages of hope and care! Visit the Bell Let's Talk Virtual Photobooth to take a picture wearing a virtual Bell Let's Talk toque and sharing your personalized mental health message. Let us know what you're doing to take care of yourself, how we can best support others, or share a message of hope for our campus community. If you post your photo to Instagram, remember to tag @UWindsorWellness!

 

All Day | Resources for Support & Skills for Supporting Each Other

We know that a day of social media filled with mental health topics and personal stories can bring up a lot of emotions sometimes. It might even remind you of your own pain. That's why on this year's Bell Let's Talk Day, @UWindsorWellness be sharing a collection of resources on Instagram that you can access if you ever need support or someone to listen. You deserve to know that you're not alone.

We'll also be providing simple active listening and referral skills that you can use if you ever need to help a friend, colleague or family member. Give us a follow to stay connected!
