Co-Curricular Record

STUDENT SERVICES

CCR Approved logo seal

The Co-Curricular Record (CCR) is an official, University-recognized document that details a student’s extracurricular and/or extra-academic activities and the corresponding skills they have gained from these contributions to campus and community life. All information contained on the CCR is authenticated by an authorized Validator.

While some students and instructors are still unfamiliar with the CCR, it provides an excellent means of representing a student’s well-rounded university experience in an official capacity. By becoming a Validator for an activity, you can help the CCR program expand its database and help UWindsor students bolster their transcripts.

What activities can be included on the CCR?

On-campus activities including both paid and volunteer positions can be included, provided they satisfy certain requirements. Such positions might include executive positions in UWSA-ratified clubs or TA/GA positions. Students can access a substantial Student Guide, which includes current policies, via mySuccess. Further information is available on the CCR website.

How does the CCR operate?

The CCR is a component of the University's Experience Transcript and an important part of the broader suite of experiential learning opportunities available across campus. It is managed and promoted by the Student Success and Leadership Centre. Students add positions to their CCR, and those positions are then each validated by a University faculty or staff member who was involved or can definitively verify the veracity of the student’s claim. The CCR Coordinator will send a notification to Validators through email when a student has added an activity to their CCR that needs to be approved/declined by them.

How do I become a Validator?

Please contact the CCR Coordinator at ccr@uwindsor.ca. Note that Validators must be University faculty or staff members.

How can I submit a student group or activity to be considered for inclusion in the CCR?

Log in to your mySuccess UWindsor Faculty/Staff account and submit a Request Form.

What else can I do as a faculty member?

The Student Success and Leadership Centre is working to improve uptake of the CCR. The CCR team asks that anyone who offers or promotes a paid or volunteer student position to consider using the CCR to promote and validate that work. One easy way to clearly signal your participation in the CCR is by using the "CCR approved" brand (see above) -- for example by embedding it in the position description. This insignia is available in a variety of colours and file formats, all of which are available upon request from the CCR Coordinator.

The CCR team also specifically asks for the support of all deans and heads at the University in ensuring that all student positions on any AAU committees are CCR validated.

  • The Office of the Co-Curricular Record Coordinator is located in the Student Success Centre, Dillon Hall 111. You are welcome to email the Coordinator directly for information about the Co-Curricular Record.

Note: This site is a living document, the goal of which is to improve, in some small way, the working lives of University of Windsor faculty. We are eager to collaborate with the campus community to better this service over time. If you can identify any knowledge gaps, missing resources, or outdated or erroneous information on this site, please contact avpa@uwindsor.ca without hesitation.
