Podcasts I'm Loving

Written by Jessica Lemmon

I never really understood the hype of podcasts until I found myself in this season of Covid. Sometimes my eyes would get tired from reading, and quite frankly, I’m not the biggest watcher of television shows.

Here are some of the podcasts I’ve been enjoying, and we’d love to hear what you all are listening to as well. (Disclaimer: some of these may contain some adult language.)

Made For This with Jennie Allen

This Christian women’s podcast deals with a wide range of topics each season, but the newest season deals specifically with the emotions faced during Covid and how they can relate back to faith. It features various guests and offers Bible passages to work through as well based on the episode’s topic.

Deck the Hallmark

What do you get when 3 guys from South Carolina (one who loves Hallmark, one who likes it, and one who despises it) join together to review EVERY movie aired by the channel? A hilarious feast for the ears that will appeal to Hallmark lovers and skeptics alike. Fun fact: You get to learn behind the scenes facts too.

UMD Newman Catholic Campus Ministry

The go-to place for Fr. Mike Schmitz’s weekly homilies. This Chaplain from the University of Minnesota at Duluth gives homilies specific to young adults, and relates them to the world we live in.

Office Ladies

Are you a fan of The Office and wanting to know more about each episode and what went into the making of them? Then tune into this podcast that is hosted by two of the show’s lead actresses and walks through each episode, while also including other cast members.
