Arts exhibition a survey of MFA students’ work

Four students preparing to graduate from the UWindsor Master of Fine Arts program will open a group exhibition this weekend at SB Contemporary Art.

Survey will feature the work of Amanda Dudnik, Michael Marcon, Allen Matrosov and Pearl Van Geest. The title reflects her studio visits with each of the artists, says curator Sarah Beveridge.

“I started to think about the rigorous objectives of a first-year MFA program as well as an artist’s impetus to complete this degree at this stage in their career,” she says. “In each of the artist’s practices, I found that in some regard there was a natural exploration at hand—both materially and conceptually.”

The exhibition opens Saturday and runs through April 27. A free public reception will celebrate its opening Thursday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m. SB Contemporary Art is located at 1017 Church Street.
