Marketplace food court to add burrito bar

Looking to spice up your lunch? The Marketplace food court is adding a new feature this week: burritos.

Starting today—Wednesday, January 14—the pasta station in the CAW Student Centre food court will split in two to accommodate a burrito bar, says executive chef Paolo Vasapolli.

Patrons will be able to choose their protein: Mexican spiced ground beef, Tex-mex chipotle marinated chicken, tofu or shrimp; add from an assortment of vegetables including peppers, pico de gallo, and corn; and accompany it with refried beans and rice of the day.

The 12-inch wraps will sell for $6.99 each.

“Depending on the feedback, if it is successful I will keep it for the remainder of the semester,” Vasapolli says.

The pasta station will continue to offer diners their choice of protein as well as two sauces, varying every three or four days, so the chef reminds customers to ask for each day’s selection.
