University launches survey of employee engagement

The University of Windsor’s first-ever Employee Engagement Survey will help to create a positive workplace its staff and faculty can be proud of, says president Robert Gordon.

“The University of Windsor is committed to turning results into action, and I encourage faculty and staff to engage with this process,” he says.

The survey launched Monday and runs through March 25. It is hosted by TalentMap, a company that specializes in employee engagement measurement and benchmarking.

“Faculty and staff should have received an invitation e-mail yesterday from TalentMap with a unique link to assess the survey,” says Marcela Ciampa, director of organizational development and training.

The survey is completely voluntary and confidential and has been cleared by the Research Ethics Board.

“We would like to assure you that at no time, during or after the survey, will TalentMap divulge individual responses to the University of Windsor,” Ciampa says. “Survey responses are transmitted directly to a secure server at TalentMap, and only aggregate results will be provided to the University.”

The survey takes approximately 20 to 25 minutes to complete. Faculty and staff are encouraged to complete the survey during work hours. Individuals who do not work in an office setting should contact their supervisor to co-ordinate access to a computer.

For each survey completed, the Office of the President will donate $2 to the UWSA Student Food Bank. Respondents will also have an opportunity to win one of five $200 Visa prepaid cards.

Faculty and staff unable to find the e-mail invitation from TalentMap are asked to contact engagementsurvey@uwindsor.ca. More information about the survey can be found at www.uwindsor.ca/engagementsurvey.
