Training session to prepare grad students to tweet theses

The Faculty of Graduate Studies is hosting a competition challenging UWindsor graduate students to share a summary of their scholarly activity via the Twitter social media platform.

The 2nd annual Twitter-based Graduate Showcase is set for the morning of Wednesday, May 18. It invites contestants to use their own Twitter accounts to promote their research in any format — text, image with text, or video — using the hashtag #UWINGradShowcase and tagging home departments and faculties.

A judges panel will select prize winners:

  • one $500 for best in show,
  • nine $200 for best entry from each faculty, and
  • and five $100 honorable mentions.

In addition, all entries will be used to populate online spaces that celebrate student success and many will be form the basis of features in DailyNews.

A one-hour “Tweet Your Thesis Training Session” will provide tips on how to get graduate work into Twitter shape for the competition. It will run on Microsoft Teams at noon Tuesday, April 12. Find further information and a registration link here.
