Music from the movies is on the program for the University Wind Ensemble’s spring concert Friday, April 22, at the Capitol Theatre.
Selections from the Star Wars trilogy, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the musical Chicago are among the featured pieces. Professor Nicholas Papador will join the student performers as a soloist for Ney Rosauro’s “Concerto for Marimba and Symphonic Band,” and music education students Carter Gaus and Mackenzie Walsh will take turns spelling conductor Trevor Pittman behind the baton.
The show gets underway at 7:30 p.m. on the theatre’s Pentastar Stage, 121 University Ave. West. Vaccination and health screening are required for entry; audience members must be distanced and masked.
Tickets are $20 general admission and $10 for students, available from the Capitol Theatre Box Office. The concert will also be livestreamed at https://youtu.be/RZqPi9Aesus.
