Series to focus on research ethics

A series of 10 workshops on research ethics hosted by Research Ethics Board chair Suzanne McMurphy will focus primarily on the Canadian Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans – TCPS 2 (2022) guidelines.

Sessions will also provide information on U.S. ethics regulations, international ethics requirements, and tips on writing research ethics applications. Individual questions on research projects and REB applications are welcome.

The sessions will be offered in person on Thursdays from 4 to 5 p.m. in Room 254, Dillon Hall.

Dr. McMurphy has over 25 years of experience in research ethics in Canada, the U.S. and internationally. She has been a member of the University of Windsor’s REB since 2010 and chair from 2016-2022 and 2023-2024. She was a consultant to the World Health Organization's Secretariat of the Ethics Review Committee from 2020 to 2022, where she also initiated a weekly drop-in clinic on research ethics for WHO staff and researchers.
