Survey an invitation to improve UWindsor registrar’s services

A survey of its client base is intended to help the registrar’s office improve services to students, staff and faculty, says Beth Oakley, assistant registrar, records and client services.

“In the fall, we conducted a survey of students who accessed our services and now we want to hear from faculty and staff,” she says. “The survey results will guide our efforts to meet the standards of excellent service the University has established.”

Registrar’s office planning reception to celebrate retirement of Judy Drouillard

Friends and colleagues of Judy Drouillard, graduate and professional applicant services specialist in the Office of the Registrar, are invited to celebrate her retirement at an open house reception on Friday, December 21—her final workday.

Drouillard joined the University in 1988 as a processing clerk in duplicating services and held a position in the finance department before her promotion to the Office of the Registrar.

Eliminating phone menu to allow registrar’s office to serve students faster

Getting rid of its automated phone menu system will allow staff in the registrar’s office to provide better services to clients, says acting registrar Charlene Yates.

“Our students are sophisticated—they use the myUWindsor system, the Web site, or the app for general information,” she says. “When they call the office, it’s because they require personalized assistance and need to talk to a live person.”

The automated menu asked clients to indicate the nature of their call, and sorted them based on those responses.

Registrar’s staff shows its true colours

Staff in the office of the registrar displayed their Olympic spirit before Friday’s opening ceremonies, dressing in patriotic red and white.

“We just wanted to show our support for all our Canadian athletes, especially (Lancer alumna) Melissa Bishop,” said acting registrar Charlene Yates.

The effort was well-received by clients, she said: “We’ve been getting nice comments all day—and even a few high-fives!”
