Sonia is the University of Windsor’s placement management software that supports the Faculty of Education’s Teacher Candidate placement program.
Sonia ensures a seamless transition of data, records management, plus time-saving automation, communication, and workflow mapping. It also allows key stakeholders (Teacher Candidates, Practicum Advisors, Associate Teachers, School Principals and Administrative Staff) to view all things practicum-related, complete important forms and submit required documents.

Information Sessions
October/November 2025
All Practicum Advisors are invited to attend these sessions to learn more about the Field Experience Online Portal, or Sonia Online. Sonia is the primary platform for most practicum-related matters. During these sessions, participants will learn how to:
- Access Sonia Online
- Create digiital reports following school visits and individual conferences to provide invaludable feedback to Teacher Candidates
- View completed reports, both Formative and Summative, from Associate Teachers
- Complete Travel Expense Reports
- and much more
