Occupational Ergonomics

Ergonomics is an approach or solution to deal with a number of problems. Bottom line is that occupational ergonomics is about designing the work to fit the worker.  It is one approach used by employers to prevent employees from developing musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).

Human Performance Modelling

Human performance modeling (HPM) is a method of quantifying human behavior, cognition, and processes; a tool used by human factors researchers and practitioners for both the analysis of human function and for the development of systems designed for optimal user experience and interaction . It is a complementary approach to other usability testing methods for evaluating the impact of interface features on operator performance.

Product Design

People have heard of ergonomics and think it is something to do with seating or with the design of car controls and instruments and it is, but it is so much more. Ergonomics applies to the design of anything that involves people – work spaces, sports and leisure, health and safety.

Gamification

Gamification is the application of game-design elements and game principles in non-game contexts. It can also be defined as a set of activities and processes to solve problems by using or applying the characteristics of game elements. Gamification commonly employs game design elements to improve user engagement, organizational productivity, flow, learning, crowd sourcing, employee recruitment and evaluation, ease of use, usefulness of systems, physical exercise, traffic violations, voter apathy, and more. A collection of research on gamification shows that a majority of studies on gamification find it has positive effects on individuals.
