Welcoming back our returning Graduates

A survey was sent out in February regarding your interest in attending an in-person Convocation.  We want you to have the opportunity to cross the stage and to be recognized for your achievements as part of these ceremonies.  You have the option of attending our Spring or Fall (October) ceremonies.

If you have already completed the survey, a confirmation email has been sent to you regarding your attendance.  If you have missed the deadline to submit the survey and are still interested in attending, then the following information must be completed and sent to convocation@uwindsor.ca by September 15, 2022.

  1. First Name

  1. Last Name

  1. Student ID

  1. Program you graduated from

  1. Preferred email

You will cross the stage with your respective faculty classmates. The current graduands will cross the stage first in alphabetical order by degree, followed by yourself and the rest of your returning classmates in that program.

Rental of Academic Gown and Hood

You must pre-order your academic regalia (gown and hood) through Canadian Caps and Gowns

Graduates wear an academic gown and the hood appropriate to their discipline. Adornments (e.g., cord or medallion) awarded to the graduating student in recognition of outstanding achievement by a professional society, the University of Windsor or their home Faculty may also be worn.

Pick-up will be in the lower level of the Toldo Lancer Center. Gowns and hoods can be picked up as follows:

  • Morning ceremony: starting at Noon until 6:00 p.m. the day before the ceremony, or between 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. the morning of graduation.

  • Afternoon ceremony:  the morning after 10:00 a.m. on the day of graduation.

  • Evening ceremony:  after 2:00 p.m. the day of graduation. The graduand or a delegate must present the graduand’s student card or a piece of identification.

PHD Graduates

You will have the opportunity to be hooded by your advisor or the Dean of Graduate Studies.  You will need to rent your PhD regalia.  You will line-up to cross the stage with your PhD hood on your arm.  The Marshall will assist you.

Grad Images

This year we are excited to have Grad Images on site to capture three poses of each graduate during the ceremony. Graduates who like their proofs and wish to purchase images may do so through a mobile-friendly website or by phone. More information regarding this can be found on convocation.uwindsor.ca.
