The University Wind Ensemble’s fall concert features music based upon musical landscapes as well as themes of change, loss, and memory.  2017 has been a year change with respect to natural disasters, the political climate, and the passing on of formative artists that shaped our culture and worldview.

In summer 2017, the wind ensemble medium lost one of its finest and most spiritually dramatic composers, David Maslanka.  The University Wind Ensemble will present a number of his works this season.  This concert includes Give Us This Day (Short Symphony for Wind Ensemble) and Dr. Papador will perform the marimba chorale from My Lady White.  The program also features environmental musical landscapes by Pulitzer Prize winning composer John Luther Adams as well as works by David Lang, Robert Buckley, and Frank Ticheli.
