Summer Orientation - Head Start

Start Your University Journey With Confidence!

    

Head Start is a summer transition program designed to help incoming first-year students feel prepared, confident, and connected before classes begin in September. By attending Head Start, you will gain early exposure to campus life, meet key people in your faculty, and learn practical skills that will support your academic and personal success.

Whether you are feeling excited, nervous, or unsure about what to expect, Head Start helps you start university on the right track!

What Happens at Head Start?

Head Start is a one day, on campus experience tailored to your faculty. Activities include:

  • A faculty specific program success session 
  • Campus tours and classroom/building walkthroughs
  • Information sessions on academic success, finances, and wellness
  • Opportunities to ask questions in a supportive environment
  • Social activities and chances to connect with peers

We are excited to be offering Head Start on the following dates in July 2026:

Friday, July 3rd: Science and Education
Friday, July 10th: Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences and Education 
Friday, July 17th: Human Kinetics, Business and General (All faculties)
Friday, July 24th: Nursing and Engineering 

Head Start is your first step toward a successful first year at The University of Windsor.
