Our Department strives to promote the principles of EDI in its teaching, learning, and workplaces through a range of activities and actions including, but not limited to:
• Women in Chemistry (WIC) chapter, @WicWindsor.
A student-run and centered group, and a member of the national WIC network, that hosts a number of events throughout the year to promote EDI. Each year our department also participates in International Day of Women and Girls in Science and the annual IUPAC Women's Global Breakfast.
• LGBTQ+ in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), @lgbtqplusstem.
Members of our department founded and now organize a national conference focused on promoting the contributions of LGBTQ+ persons in STEM. Our department also participates each year in the International Day of LGBTQ+ in STEM.
• Supporting a student representative at EDI-related regional or national Chemistry Conferences, e.g., LOGIC, QAtCanSTEM.
• Developing and incorporating EDI principles and practices in Departmental committees, events, and course materials.
