Abstract: 

This workshop will cover the main concepts of Federated Learning when different agents/ workers can join a federated environment to train their models without sharing their datasets. The workshops will give examples of working on open-source frameworks.

 

Workshop Outline:
  • 1.1. What is federated learning?
  • 1.2 federated learning architecture / how does it work?
  • 1.3.  FL vs centralized learning
  • 1.4. FL applications
  • 1.5. Privacy issues in FL

 

Prerequisites:

Python, preferred to know PyTorch/tensor flow frameworks.

 

Biography: 

Safiia is a Ph.D. student at the School of Computer Science (University of Windsor). She is interested in applying ML in Cybersecurity.
