Anyone within the campus community who feels that a student is exhibiting behaviours of concern, can alert the Assessment and Care Team.
It is important to know that you are contacting us because you are concerned for a student who you believe is in need of assistance. By alerting the ACT about the student’s behaviour, you are entrusting that information into the hands of individuals who are best positioned to actively develop a care plan and provide the student with necessary assistance.
The only people with access to the information you provide are members of the Assessment and Care Team.
The ACT will try their best to address the situation as discreetly as possible. There is no guarantee that the student will not be able to find out about you. However, our main intention is to provide the necessary support for the student and our efforts will be focused on doing that rather than to discuss how the information was provided.
In the broader university community, you are also part of the behavioural intervention team! You are not required to make a determination about whether or not the person`s behaviour needs to be addressed. However, if a student is displaying behaviour that concerns you in any way, then you should refer the student to the Assessment and Care Team.
The ACT will work speedily to address all care alerts submitted.
