In collaboration with Facility Services- Grounds and the Campus Community Garden, native plant species are welcomed into a new area on campus. Replacing two grass patches in River Commons (between Lambton and CHS) with 14 native, pollinator-friendly plant species!

Bird-window collisions was a concern brought forward by Alysha Riquier, a graduate student of integrative biology to the Office of Sustainability early 2023. By March 2023, the Bird Friendly Campus Initiative was started, collaborating with UWindsor Grounds and Operations staff, faculty, staff, students and Pelee Island Brid Observatory (PIBO).
