Go ENG Girl

The University of Windsor Faculty of Engineering invites girls and non-binary youth in grades 7-10 to explore the field of engineering at its annual GO ENG Girl event. 

Sponsored by the Ontario Network of Women in Engineering, Go Eng Girl is an opportunity for Grade 7 to 10 girls to learn from female professionals, academics and students who are excelling in engineering.  The free event features hands-on activities.

2023 Go Engineering Girl Agenda: 

8:30 - 9:00 a.m. - Registration/light breakfast 

9:00 - 9:45 a.m. - Welcome and general introduction to engineering for parents/guardians and girls 

9:45 - 12:30 p.m. - Girls work on engineering activities (Team Building Engineering Relay and UWindsor GO ENG GIRL Build Design Challenge); tours of CEI 

9:45 - 11:30 a.m. - Parents & Guardians Panel; Discussion about UWindsor Engineering and programs, employment and career opportunities future trends; tours of CEI 

11:30 a.m. - Washroom/Coffee Break

12:00 - 12:30 p.m. - Parents/guardians view the demonstration/testing of the projects designed by the girls 

Parents/Guardians are also encouraged to attend.  Free parking in the CEI Parking Lot off California Avenue for attendees from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Activity: 

Engineers are problem solvers and the activities this year will be the Team Building Engineering Relay and UWindsor GO ENG GIRL Bridge Build Design Challenge.  Through interactive presentations and hands-on activities, attendees will learn about engineering concepts while enhancing important skills such as problem-solving, communication, and teamwork.  The activities will introduce the engineering design process, develop critical thinking skills, and provide the opportunity to get questions answered by current engineering students while learning about the key concepts related to civil and structural engineering. Tours of CEI will also be included for all attendees.
