UWindsor Together: Student Mental Health and Remote Learning Services

Dean's Message

Dean Mehrdad Saif

On behalf of the Faculty of Engineering, I would like to welcome you to the University of Windsor. The University of Windsor is big in the right ways – lots of programs and choices, scholarships and hands-on learning opportunities. And we’re small where it counts – things like student-to-faculty ratio and campus size.

Your first year of study is common in order to give you an introduction to the general engineering principles. It also allows you to investigate special fields of interest for subsequent years of study. More than 400 first-year students are starting their educational careers with you. I encourage you to enhance your academic experience by being fully engaged with your professors, your peers and the staff who are here to support you throughout your educational journey. It is what will bring your UWindsor student experience to life.

Obtaining an engineering degree takes hard work and dedication. Our First-Year Engineering Office, WINONE, is here to help guide you in this new and demanding environment. Please take advantage of the resources offered by WINONE, including academic and personal counselling, tutoring and advising.

You’ve chosen an exciting and rewarding career path. Although engineering is not always clearly apparent, engineers touch everything. This gives us an opportunity to truly make an impact in the world.

We look forward to supporting you on your journey and seeing what you achieve at UWindsor.
