Prof. Marcello Guarini

Marcello GuariniProfessor Guarini has a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Western Ontario.  He is an Associate Professor of Philosophy and holds a Junior Research Leadership Chair in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.  His research is focused on nature of analogical reasoningand on issues at the intersection of epistemology and the philosophy of mind.  He is the first recipient of the annual AILACT essay prize, and has been awarded grants by SSHRC and SHARCNet. Professor Guarini is a member of the Canadian Philosophical Association, the American Philosophical Association, the PSA, the IACAP, the AAAI, the CSS, and the Centre for Research in Reasoning, Argumentation and Rhetoric.  Dr. Guarini is a co-chair for the Moral Cognition and Theory of Mind Symposium at the 2012 AISB/IACAP Joint World Congress in honour of Alan Turing.
