What is the Career Peer Advising Program?
Career Development and Experiential Learning (CDEL) launched a peer advising program in August 2017 to allow us to better support students with expanded drop-in hours and readily available assistance. With the guidance of CDEL staff, Peer Advisors (PAs) are a vital resource for students in all areas of career development and job search. Our PAs are thoroughly trained to advise students from all disciplines in career-related topics and provide career coaching sessions. PAs are also ambassadors for CDEL, leading campus-wide promotional initiatives and supporting events.
Winter 2023 Peer Advising
Meet with a trained peer advisor for a 15 minute appointment during drop-in hours for introductory tips and resources on career-related topics including:
- Resume and Cover Letter Writing
- Job Search Strategies
- Interview Preparation
- Career Planning, and much more!
Already have a resume and/or cover letter written but want a second opinion? A peer advisor can provide feedback on the formatting and content of your resume and/or cover letter. This is an especially ideal option if you are planning to apply for a part-time or entry-level role.
Please note that students will be helped on a first come, first served basis and that peers will be able to meet with you for up to 15 minutes so that others can also receive assistance.
