There are 5 types of work that each Ignite position fits into:
Administration & Customer Service
Definition: Positions that are mostly administrative in nature and/or require direct front-line service provision and interaction with the wider University of Windsor population (faculty, staff, students, stakeholders, etc.)
Examples:
- Building Monitor – School of Dramatic Art
- Payroll Filing Clerk – Finance
- Forge Fitness Facilities Attendant – Athletics & Recreation
- Desk Staff – Residence Services
Marketing, Communications & Outreach
Definition: Positions that require support related to branding, promotion and advertising of University of Windsor events, departments, and/or services.
Examples:
- Digital Marketing Coordinator – UWSA
- Video Technician – Athletics & Recreation
- Podcast & Internet Media Producer – Communication, Media & Film
- Editorial Assistant – Languages, Literatures & Cultures
Mentorship & Peer Support Roles
Definition: Positions that provide student leadership opportunities or require peer-to-peer support and advising.
Examples:
- Learning Disabilities Coach – Student Accessibility Services
- Academic Counselor – Athletics & Recreation
- Team Manager – Athletics & Recreation
- Peer Advisor – Career Development & Experiential Learning
Research or Laboratory
Definition: Positions that require assisting or supporting faculty research or laboratory work.
Examples:
- Research Assistant – Department of Psychology
- Drosophila Lab Stock Keeper – Biological Sciences
- Animal Facility Lab Attendant - Central Animal Care Facility
- Bird Song Research Technician – Biological Sciences
Student Experience & Engagement
Definition: Positions that support the provision of services to students and aim to enhance student success, learning, and development.
Examples:
- Orientation Programming Assistant – Student Success & Leadership Centre
- Tax Coordinator – International Student Centre
- Lancer Intramural Scorekeeper – Athletics & Recreation
- Teaching and Learning Project Assistant – Centre for Teaching & Learning
