Month’s end to close 2012 campus giving campaign

Contributors to the Annual Giving Program who make their donations by April 30 will be credited with a gift to its 2012 Plant a Seed:  Here We Grow Again campaign, says chair Bruce Tucker.

“UWindsor employees and retirees who participate will receive an invitation to this spring’s donor recognition event,” Dr. Tucker says. “It is a tangible demonstration of the University’s appreciation of those faculty and staff members who go beyond their work efforts to support student success.”

Development officer Mona Dosen says details of a reception are still under consideration while she compiles the complete guest list. Donors will receive themed invitations through the campus mail system.

“Before we close the books on this year’s campaign, we want to make sure that all employees past and present have a chance to give, whether it’s to scholarships, a specific faculty or program, Lancer athletics, campus beautification, or any particular campus cause they hold dear,” she says.

The theme of this year’s campaign reflects the University’s ongoing transformation as it prepares to launch into its second half-century, says Dosen. Last year’s campaign raised more than $278,000 from faculty, staff and retirees in support of student scholarships and faculty and departmental priority projects across the campus.
