The committee reviewing the Learning Management Review has concluded the consultation stage of its process and thanks those who contributed.
“We have received a tremendous amount of input from so many faculty, students, and staff as we choose our next Learning Management System,” says Erika Kustra, director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning. “The campus feedback is having a significant impact on the decision-making process.”
More than 750 students, faculty, and staff requested a sandbox account for at least one of the three vendors vying to provide the University of Windsor’s next learning management system. The accounts provided access to sites in which users tested and evaluated the three vendors’ products, providing feedback to the LMS evaluation team.
Forty-six participants won appreciation prizes, including biochemistry professor Sirinart Ananvoranich, who won the grand prize of a Samsung Galaxy tablet computer.
More than 2,000 people provided input through a variety of means including surveys, vendor presentation feedback, sandbox testing feedback, focus groups, and committees. The review team is now working to analyze the data collected, which will inform the selection of the next LMS in the coming months.
