About the Survey and the Survey Administrator
The survey is an opportunity for staff and faculty to share their experiences of working at the University of Windsor. It is also an opportunity to co-create a work environment that we can all be proud of.
Feedback from staff and faculty is critical to understanding the University's strengths, as well as where we can improve as an employer. The survey results will help to identify key actions that the University can take to create a work environment that fosters engagement and contributes to the University's success.
TalentMap, a privately held Canadian corporation (Ottawa) will once again be administering the survey at the University of Windsor.
TalentMap has over 25 years of experience assisting numerous organizations, including many post-secondary institutions, across North America to measure and manage employee engagement to support positive organizational change.

The survey instrument consists of a mix of level of agreement/disagreement scale questions and open-ended questions.
Level of agreement/disagreement scale questions:
For the statements listed, faculty and staff will be asked to rate their level of agreement or disagreement with the statement. Answering these questions is required. If an item (statement) in the questionnaire is not applicable to you or you prefer not to answer, you can select NA/ No Opinion option.
Open-ended questions:
Provide respondents an opportunity to identify suggestions on the ways the University of Windsor could do better. Answering the open-ended questions is optional.
The survey will approximately take 20 minutes to complete.
The survey is completely voluntary.
Faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to participate in order for the University to have a representative picture of the work experiences of faculty and staff.
Greater participation will also help provide comprehensive unit-level reports that will offer a more complete picture of how the University can better support all of its employees. The information emerging from the survey will help to create a more rewarding work environment.

Confidentiality, Security and Privacy
Once collected, TalentMap’s system allows only anonymous aggregate calculations using the data.
By default, no reporting may be done on any department/unit containing fewer than 5 responses.
Raw survey responses are never included in reports, instead the calculations for the reports are done on TalentMap’s secure servers and only the final result is presented for analysis.
When filtering the data to enable more detailed reports about specific subgroups, TalentMap’s system keeps track of the last several filters that were applied. This ensures that each new result set is sufficiently different from previous result sets so that it is impossible for someone to determine how a particular individual responded.
Data collected for TalentMap’s surveys is transferred using the HTTPS protocol with TLS 1.3 security. This means that all data that is sent or received is encrypted and highly secure.
All survey results are stored in secure servers in the cloud in Canada. Access to the servers is strictly controlled by a firewall.
The data is encrypted at rest using the AES cipher (certified by the US government as high enough quality to protect classified data at the top-secret level)
Only TalentMap’s administrators and the web servers that process the data are able to connect to these data servers.
The survey is confidential.
To ensure confidentiality, TalentMap will not divulge individual survey responses to anyone at the University of Windsor, only aggregate reports will be provided.
TalentMap is a member of Insights Association (formerly CASRO) merger). TalentMap subscribes to the Insights Association Code of Standards. You can be assured that your responses will be treated with the strictest confidence.
TalentMap will not report on any groups with less than 5 responses.
Reporting Results and Data Storage
TalentMap will analyze, interpret, and report on the results.
TalentMap’s senior reporting analysts and subject matter experts have years of experience in interpreting data and providing actionable reports that will inform action planning.
The University will share university-wide results with faculty and staff in April-May 2026.
Department specific reports will be shared in the Summer/Fall only with those departments/units that have a minimum of 5 responses.
