Dr. John Hartig tells about the societal importance and economic benefits of the cleanup up of Toronto's waterfront

Dr. John Hartig, visiting scholar at GLIER published an article in Toronto Waterfront magazine relating the importance, both culturally and econimically, of cleaning up and enhancing cities' waterfronts, using Toronto as a study.  It has been found that the investment in waterfront rehabilitation pays off in a multitude of ways, both economically, and in terms of improving quality of life of the residents and visitors.
