University of Windsor to train the next generation of freshwater fisheries scientists

The University of Windsor has received a $1.65 million grant from Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada’s (NSERC) Collaborative Research and Training Experience Program (CREATE) for the six-year FishCAST program to train the next generation of freshwater fisheries and fisheries conservation scientists.  The program is being led by Dept. of Integrative Biology and GLIER researcher Dr. Christina Semeniuk.  Students in the FishCAST program will work with, and be mentored by partners from industry, indigenous communities, academia, governmental agencies and NGO's.  The program will mentor undergraduate and graduate students, as well as post-doctoral fellows.
